Make it from scratch!

I’m often on the lookout for different things I can do at home with the kids, possibly because I hate Winter and prefer to not spend an entire day outside in the snow. With the school break quickly approaching, I was looking with even greater interest because now my daughter is used to some sort of routine and a lot of activity.

I confess I am a fan of shortcuts sometimes, but sometimes I also like doing things from scratch. I was blog surfing this morning and came across this awesome site with a whole blog carnival listing of different things you can make from scratch, and in this case it features a lot of holiday themes – ’tis the season after all!

You can learn how to make some homemade holiday crafts and your kids, depending on age and interest, might really enjoy helping you. It also has some holiday gifts you can make for the people in your life, and several are kid-friendly. Best of all, there’s a whole slew of links for what they refer to as “holiday comfort” but what they really mean is “don’t view this list while hungry because it all sounds delicious”!
