Osteoporosis hits ten million Americans a year over the age of 50. Women are at greater risk for the disease than men. Experts say that there are numerous ways to increase your bone health besides the obvious two: getting enough calcium and vitamin D.

Exercise is also a good way to increase bone health, because “when you jump, run or lift a weight, it puts pressure on your bones, which sends signals to build new cells that, ultimately, strengthen your skeleton.”
Eating more fruits and veggies and limiting salt intake also helps you have denser bones. Another way to avoid weakening bones is to stop crash dieting! It wreaks havoc on your bones. Giving up smoking and limiting alcohol use can help as well.
