Make Your Own Ranch Dip

I make my own Ranch dip for chips, and for vegetables. Whenever I’m invited to a carry in I offer to bring the vegetable tray, that way I know there will be healthy vegetables there for me to pick at when I feel like snacking.

I have a recipe that my sister gave to me several years ago for a homemade ranch mix that can be used to make ranch chip or vegetable dip. I don’t know where the recipe originally came from, but it is delicious. It’s a dry herb mix you can store until you’re ready to use. You can add to sour cream, or sour cream and Mayonnaise to make your dip.

Homemade Ranch Mix

  • 5 Tablespoons dried minced onion
  • 7 teaspoons of dried parsley flakes
  • 4 teaspoons of salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Combine all the ingredients and store them in an airtight container. When you’re ready to make your dip add the mixture to the following:

For chip dip add 3 tablespoons of the mixture to two cups of sour cream and mix well. To make vegetable dip add 3 tablespoons of the mixture to one cup of sour cream, and one cup of Mayonnaise and mix well.

You can use the dip right after you make it, or store it in the refrigerator for up to a week.

If you want to make a lighter vesion of the dip, use low fat or fat free sour cream and Mayonnaise.
