Make Your Own Taco Seasoning

taco spices We had tacos for supper tonight, so I thought I’d share a recipe I have for taco seasoning. I make this up, and store it in an old parmesan cheese shaker. It’s cheaper than buying the packets of taco seasoning in the store, and it’s lower in sodium.

Taco Seasoning

  • 1 cup of dried minced onion
  • 1/3 cup of chili powder
  • 3 T cumin
  • 4t crushed red pepper
  • 1 T oregano
  • 4 t garlic powder
  • 2 t onion powder

Combine these ingredients, and store in a cool dry place. When you’re ready to make tacos, or burritos use one tablespoon per pound of ground lean beef, or ground turkey.
