Making a simple collage with an image transfer

Technique Tuesday!

This is one of the most simple collages that I’ve done in a long time. The biggest departure for me was to mirror image what I might normally do: most often I would have the bird on the left side, looking towards the writing on the right. I am still not sure if I like the final results here, but it was an interesting exercise to flip things around.

And I didn’t even sew anything onto the collage!! Shock! It is so hard for me to keep it this pared down.

Hi Cyndi, Thank you for the link from altered books and for the easy instructions you left. I get so much out of reading your archives. I’ve been wanting to experiment with transparencies, but as with so many techniques, I have a hard time trying all I want to do. I’m finding that the swaps help at least keep me creating art, but don’t seem to have time left over to be “original” and let happen what wants to!

Oh Mollye, I know…so little time, so many ideas!! And hey, btw, don’t worry about the duplicates…I’ve got your back :)

I like this–probably because I love birds–and love the scripture reference.

Thank you, Kathy! I figure that if He cares about the little birds, He must care about me too :-)
