Market day! The only shopping day I need

Yes, I rushed home from the farmers market, artfully arranged my purchases on the table, and photographed them before shoving them into my tiny fridge. Yes, I know I’m weird. But aren’t they beautiful?
I’m still sticking with my shopping challenge: only purchasing fresh fruits and veggies, tofu, and soy milk. I’ve been at it since July 1st, so it’s been almost a month now (although to be fair, I was away for a week of it). It gets more and more fun as the weeks go on. I love the feeling of cleaning out the pantry (but without wasting anything by throwing it away). This week I used up the last of the canned veggies, arborio rice, refried beans, and millet. But there’s still plenty left.
The other thing I love is knowing that I’m only buying really healthy foods. No packaged processed anything. Just fresh, vitamin-filled, delicious stuff.

So timely. I am exhausted from a red-eye and dreading going home to an empty fridge. Reading your post makes me want to stop by the farmer’s market, grab a few veggies and make something with rice and herbs from my garden tonight. Just the inspiration I needed. Thank you! I LOVE the picture you took. Beautiful.
Thanks, Glam! Fresh farmers market veggies should be the perfect cure for jet lag.
I’m so jealous! I wish we had a decent farmer’s market around here. It looks beautiful – I would have taken a picture too!
I just love fresh vegetables, especially when I’ve chopped them beforehand just before cooking. I just stand there in awe for the lovely site. Sometimes just to get the beautiful sight I carefully chop everything that will go to the food, arrange them in neat order, and enjoy…
2 weirds makes 1 … whatever.
