Thanks again to Sarah for this meme and accountability! You can click on Sarah’s name to go to the Marriage Builder Monday site….
I was not great about keeping up with Marc’s blog last week. I am going to continue to try to get back in the habit of it. Please y’all..hold me accountable! Comment and ask if I did it!
Also this week…hmmm…I am going to order some of our custom blend tea and keep sweet tea in the fridge.
When we owned a tea room we had a tea custom blended for it and we continued to order it after the tearoom closed. It is the best sweet tea ever and Marc loves it. He needs to be drinking lots of water as well as other liquids and so I think this might bless him. I hope it will. We have been out of it for awhile.
So, what are you doing this week to be a blessing to your husband?
You know, an awful lot of the time I end up being the ear for women who are unloading a ton of frustration…I don’ t mind that because it gives me the opportunity to pray with them, and even counsel them some. Sometimes we get overloaded and just need an understanding hug!
Anyway, one of the things I hear over and over is …”but what about HIM? Why do I have to do it all When do I get my blessing?”
It is a sad truth that women, as a general rule, have to be the ones to do the blessing part…at least first. Some guys simply don’t know how. Sometimes they are doing stuff but it isn’t what we want so we don’t notice it. Sometimes they are being big jerks and God needs to slap ‘em upside the head with a 2×4… But that does not get US out of the part where we are to love and honor, and even obey (gasp).
Someone showed me a long time ago that if you want the marriage dance to change you need to change the steps. Sometimes it takes just one person making a change, a committed, permanent change, to cause a domino effect in a relationship. And sometimes it takes awhile, patience on your part, to see the change.
If that is you..I challenge you to do these marriage builder Mondays. Choose one thing nice to do for your husband all week and be consistent.
Leave a comment and let me know what you are going to do, and let’s keep eachother accountable, spurring each other on to good works.
