Jen over at Absolutely Bananas has a cute meme going…called…Marriage in Real Life
You should check out the posts associated with the meme because they are absolutely wonderful, hysterical, and brilliant…with moments of “Uh Huh, you GO girl”
And so now, desperately wanting to be part of this oh-so-cool-crowd I sit here with blank brain, listening to my two youngest sons giggle over one of them passing gas….loudly. In fact they can create a 20 minute conversation out of this event..and they are.
That’s IT!
Marriage in real life is….real.
When we were younger (oh so much younger than today-ay…) we did the for richer or for poorer thing. Now we are doing the in sickness and in health thing. Which to me is preferable to the last part of the vow…We can wait on that another 100 years or so.
IRL I LIKE being married. I have been married for 28 years. If I had it to do all over..knowing what I know now? I would….but i would have gotten a tummy tuck when I had the money.
In MY Marriage, in real life:
`1. Every day is a holiday
2. Having ALOT to be thankful for…(our 3 youngest and two grandkids..we are thankful for the others too..just don;t have a picture of all of them)
3.Finding Your Dream House and then PATIENTLY restoring it
4. Saying goodbye to people and pets TOGETHER ..as you go through the cycles of your life
5. Facing hardship together, knowing that nothing can tear you apart except your own choices.
6. Preferring one another….
7. It is having someone to pitch in and help when you are overwhelmed
8. It is seasons of magnificent sex and romance….
9. And seasons of fantasizing about how it was and praying it is that way again soon…
10. Mostly it is one of the two the best things that ever happened to me..
