Often a person’s interests overlap. I’ve been involved with Mother’s journey through Alzheimer’s, but I’ve also experienced mine with anorexia. By telling our stories, Mother’s and mine, I hope we can help others encountering similar challenges.
Angelique, host at Breaking the Mirror, a b5media blog about eating disorders, has interviewed me for her series, Face-to-Face with EDs; Q&A with Mary.
Although it’s often difficult for those with anorexia or who have experienced this condition to talk or write about it, I feel there’s a need for me to do so if it will help and encourage just one person who is experiencing what I did…or who now is trying to remain healthy. This is a condition that can consume you and often is difficult to overcome, although there are more places to get help nowadays than when I first developed anorexia.
If you have questions or comments, leave them here at Alzheimer’s Notes or at Breaking the Mirror.
