  1. In my case…caregiving opened up new career opportunities for me. When I moved my parents into my home, I needed to find a new job in a new community. I had worked for a decade in newsrooms as a reporter and an editor. But in this new suburbia, there were no journalism jobs. So I started freelancing. I worked for a non profit. I worked for a tech school as an online editor– and then got into SEO and internet marketing. That turend into the perfect career — flexible hours and working from home are the KEY to being a caregiver.
