Maryland paves way for a smoke-free future

Effective February 1, 2008, the most restrictive smoking ban in the nation was enforced in my home state of Maryland!

With the law signed, tobacco shops are the only places where smoking is allowed. The law requires bars, restaurants, as well as private clubs to be smoke-free. This law is a landmark in the fight to protect our children from second hand smoke.
