May is Pregnancy Awareness Month

Declared and founded by holistic lifestyle expert Anna Getty, May 2008 marks the inaugural year of Pregnancy Awareness Month (PAM). And if I weren’t green with envy, I am now when I take a peek at all of the sponsors who helped kick off their inaugural event last night. Where can I get some Burts Bees and Seventh Generation gear?
This campaign is kind of funny to me since those of us struggling to start a family are hyper-aware of those around us who are preggers. No need for a campaign! Really! We see you. We really do. We are more than aware that pregnancy can be a wonderful, life-changing event.
All kidding aside, the four initiatives of this month-long campaign include: education, exercise, nutrition & wellness and nurture. And these sound to me like wonderful things to concentrate on for those of us trying to conceive as well. So let’s do that!
This May, check Fertility Notes for posts on education, exercise, nutrition and wellness and nurture – and how those all relate to the path towards pregnancy. I am really hoping that next Pregnancy Awareness Month, we are all celebrating together, in a different way.
This feels like a good time to let you know that the b5 Health and Wellness channel will soon be welcoming a few new blogs to the family, one focused on pregnancy (just in time for PAM), the other related to yoga/pilates and fitness. I promise to give you a heads up when they go live.

jeez, isn’t every day pregnancy awareness day? I mean really. how about an infertility awareness month?! ~luna
Sorry, luna, we only get a week. And we have to wait until the fall for that.

I actually had the same reaction as you did at first, but then I thought, you know, I’m not going to diss a movement towards being a healthier and happier woman, no matter what stage of life and living. So, let’s take their initiatives and make them work for US.
