Meet Halle Parry

This is Halle. She’s seven. She’s in the second grade. She likes gymnastics and Andy Capp hot chips.

She also has alopecia universalis, and as a result has no body hair. That’s right, none. None on her head. None on her legs. No eyebrows. No eyelashes. Not even nose hairs. “Nobody was like me,” Halle said about her uncommon appearance.

But this girl’s got spunk. In order to distract her from getting down about her circumstances, mom (Jewel) suggested she think of a way to help others like her. “That’s all it took. I made the suggestion, and she ran with it.”

So, what have Halle and her mom come up with?

Check out Bandanas By Halle. “Created for seven year old Halle… to share her love of fashion with other children suffering from hair loss due to alopecia or other illnesses.” Through the website, Halle (and company) provide a place for other kids to share their stories and request a care package. Care packages contain mild shampoos, lotions, a card and, of course, a bandanna!

They’ve got a message board, too; so be sure to share the link with any kids you know who could need a little pick-me-up.
