Melanie Griffith:3rd Time a Charm for Rehab

Actress Melanie Griffith, 52, has entered rehab now for the third time. I applaud her tenacity. I think sometimes it’s very hard to admit that you need help, especially when you’re in the public eye. In a statement from her rep, she says this recent stay in rehab was all part of “a routine plan.” I have no idea what that means, but if she needs additional counseling I’m glad she’s getting it.

Nine years ago Griffith admitted she had a drug problem and was going to seek treatment. She had started taking pain killers for a neck injury, and became addicted to them. We’ve been hearing more and more about prescription pills causing dependence, and when public figures such as Melanie Griffith talk about it, it brings the issue to the forefront.
