Memory Quilts with Neckties

Even though Father’s Day is over, making quilts, pillows, and hangings of Father’s neckties might be an enjoyable way to create memories and mementoes. I saved ties that were my father’s, father-in-law’s, and uncle’s, and wondered what I’d do with them, but not wanting to throw them out.
They brought back memories of the occasions when these men wore the ties. In addition, they were colorful and made of attractive fabrics.
Then I discovered there were books with ideas and patterns for using neckties in quilts and fabric art projects. I haven’t had an opportunity yet, to try these out, but am getting many ideas.
Two of the books are Traditional Quilts from Neckties and Necktie Sampler Blocks by Janet B. Elwin.

I am interested in finding someone who could make 3 memory pillows out of neckties from my deceased husband. I have 2 teeaged sons and each of us would like a memory pillow. Thanks.
Need more information – do you want to include a photo of your husband? Do you want something fancy or just a plain striped pillow on the front with backing in velvet or corduroy or whatever? Where are you going to use these pillows? How big?
I am looking for a person who would be interested in making a throw from neckties.
My husband is retiring and I would like to have all his ties made into a quilt/throw.
Barbara and Patty, I’m going to toss your inquiries around in a post. Maybe some of my readers will chime in with their ideas.
