I absolutely agree with this survey. I am in the 40.6% and have been for 15 years, while my ex was remarried within two months of our divorce being finalized. I finished raising our children, excelled in my job, learned who I really was (married at 20, divorced at 40) and followed my dreams, my passions without anybody telling me I couldn't for whatever reason. I have many, many women friends in this same group. I have dated, I have been in a few serious relationships but I don't believe that I will ever marry again. I'm beyond precreation (been there, done that, not even physically possible anymore) I own my home, and frankly, I'm not as compromisable as I used to be. It takes a lot more than a cute butt and a hot car to get my motor running now. I also have many male friends that I meet for dinner, drinks, dancing, travel, movies, etc. but it really is platonic. I realized at a large dinner party that I had slept with about 8 of the men there, no sex, just slept because we are very comfortable traveling together and sharing space. It's a darn good life and I've yet to meet anybody that would enhance my life that I have created to bring in intimately, long term.
