Mental Health Notes Is Talking To Air

It’s been a few weeks since we’ve had someone rock out here at Mental Health Notes, so I’m thrilled to present to you today, straight from Vancouver, BC, Canada, the one, the only…
Air!
Air is a courageous soul indeed, and I think you’ll agree once you’ve read her story.
Though she’s now currently in treatment and living with major depression with psychotic features, in the past Air suffered a serious blow to her professional and personal lives. However, not one to let mental illness do the ass-kicking, Air picked herself back up and boldly faced her demons – even though it’s meant struggling to find balance in her life:
I suffer from anxiety disorder, panic disorder and had Post Partum Depression with my second child. I was on the ladder to success in my career when I was struck with my worst serious depression. I was hospitalized and began treatment. I missed one year of work, but had the courage to come back and face my peers. I now work at the same workplace (part time). I still collect partial disability, take medication, see my psychiatrist once a week, and struggle to find balance.
Aside from working her part-time traditional job, Air also lives it up here on the Internet:
I find pleasure and peace in the online world. I blog and produce a beauty podcast as my hobby.
The podcast helped me greatly in my recovery process.

Seriously, how cute is the name of her podcast?!
Of course, it’s not all working, blogging, and podcasting for Air. She also balances a family life that has – as family lives tend to do – presented both joys and challenges; however, Air leaves us with a final thought I feel is clearly indicative of just how hard she rocks:
I have a husband and two daughters. Last year my husband was diagnosed with cancer. Life is hard, and I’m too tired to tell you all the details, but I’m a survivor. I am surviving this.
I encourage you all to take time out of your day today to check out Air’s blog and podcast and let her know she ROCKS!

Air is one of the most courageous women I’ve ever met, and her podcast is super awesome. Her blog is outstanding. And she and her husband are adorable, as are their daughters.
@ Raul – Thanks for chiming in – I’m sure Air is blessed to have a friend like you
