Middle School Here We Come
Our Middle School drama has a happy outcome/beginning. I called the school board on Friday and they have approved my request to have my son go to the Middle School closest to our house (rather than the one he is zoned for).
The 5th graders got to take the bus to their new schools yesterday and my son was really happy with the other kids from his school that are going there. Their class of about 65 kids (three class rooms) is being split between two middle schools based on where they live. About 20 kids are going to the same middle school as my son.
Anyhow, Mr. N. was quite impressed with the tour. The school is very old – something he likes about it – but it is well kept, organized and run like a tight ship!
His last few days of school are packed with events – DARE graduation this morning, 5th grade musical and awards ceremony tonight, 5th grade picnic tomorrow and last day of school Thursday. As of Friday I will be able to add the title of “Middle School Parent” to my resume. Wow!

Good news – it must be a relief to have the middle school issue resolved!
The same end of year 5th grade scene is playing out at our house. Middle school already, can you believe it?
Neena – we went to the 5th grade awards ceremony tonight – I am one proud Mom! My son came home with stack of awards. He read (and took test on) over 250 books this year and got straight A’s for the year.
Please keep me posted on your Middle School experience – we’re all in this together.
