Military Men

My dad retired a few years ago as a Col. in the Utah Air National Guard. He was active duty Air Force when I was growing up.
Last week he swore my little brother into the Navy. My brother will be a Navy Chaplain, serving those men and women who need compassion and spiritual guidance in the face of the extreme conditions of war and separations from their families. He’ll serve in the reserves until he completes a masters degree in theology.
“Was dad really, really proud when he swore you in?” I asked my brother.
“Are you really, really proud?” my brother asked?
I am really, really proud. I hope it is everything your family expects. I hope you get to see the whole big wide world and I hope it makes you happy.
This is a Blogtoberfest Post. The item I’m giving away is something I sought out specifically in honor of my brother’s family.

My sister-in-law, Janet, was previously in the Army herself. I nearly died when I got to see a photo of her sporting a machine gun in camouflage at their wedding. She’s a military wife now and this woman knows what she’s getting into. It looks like a hard road to me, but it’s a familiar life for her. They have a 2.5-year-old daughter named Liberty, and Janet’s pregnant with another baby girl. She traded camouflage for nursing bras. The item I’m giving away will help them communicate with their kids. . .

I bet it’s a baby monitor, and I could sure use one!
I bet it is a monitor too. Best way of communicating w/ mom or dad when they aren’t in the room.
I’m guessing Baby Signing Time Gift Set
We love baby sign language! Just a declaration. *wink wink*!
I would say some camofloge (spelling isn’t my strongest suit) pj’s.
I’m guessing a good book on “How to communicate with your little ones” (4 of my grandchildren were taught simple signs and that was great so those guessing sign language may be right!)
I’m guessing a book
I would love it if it were a Signing Time gift set. I check the videos out from the library almost every week and it sure has made a difference in my communication with our daughter.
I think it’s a sign language package. Too bad it’s already been guessed. My son and I have been trying to sign. It’s really helped him since he’s such a late talker.
I think it is the Baby Signing Time Gift Set
My first thought was a webcam for any possible deployments.
Hmmm…military family–I’m thinking it’s a calling card?
yep, it’s the baby signs book..that’s my guess too – so unoriginal.
My guess is that it’s a webcam!
I have to go with the majority. I was thinking the signing time set!
A photo bag to keep a loved one with you all day long????!?
Is it a bible placed by the Gideons in Navy colors? Or maybe a Signing Time gift set?
BTW – that baby doesn’t look one month older than 19 months;-).
You neglect the military women with the title of your blog:-). Their contributions, both in the service and at home, is equally as difficult as that undertaken by the men in uniform. Here’s a shout-out to all the women that keep our nation strong!
My guess is a web cam. Thanks for a fun contest!
Cindi
Could it possibly by pre-paid cell phones or a walkie talkie set?
God bless your family!!! Could it be a web cam?
I’m going to say webcam.

I’ll guess a phone.
As the photographer of the military ceremony, it made the moment less emotional for me. A bit removed from actual reality. I thought I was finished with the anxiety of wondering if a member of my family would return home safely after each TDY. Not to be I guess. I pray for the best for their little family. I was literally amazed at the communication level this little family has achieved with the help of Signing Times. I am guessing a new signing video to help them even more.
I should of read the comments before I went searching for the answer
