After reading the comments, it’s obvious that most of you feel that Harold should be realistic and remain open to dating women who are perhaps a bit more age-appropriate. I’m not sure what I think. We all have our individual quirks and tastes.
Personally, I am not interested in dating someone much younger for wholly selfish reasons – I prefer to be the pretty one. (Yep, I’m a little shallow like that). Okay, maybe it’s not that simple, but it was the quickest answer to a complicated question that I could come up with. I think my personal preferences are influenced by having sons who are 17 and 18. A man in his early 20s would be too close to the boy’s ages for me. A guy in his 30s (I’m 42) would be fine. A guy in his early 40s would still be (and was) my first choice.
