The concept of making a solar dish isn’t at all new.   I even seen it at Mythbusters.  Basically the design was a huge parabola composed of an array of mirrors focused on a single point.     It is basically the same concept as focusing a magnifying glass to a certain point to ignite a match or paper.

Solar dish can be used to generate hot water.  I suppose a row of black tubes filled with water is centered at the focal point.  Water flowing over these pipes will be heated.

It can also be used to generate steam in which case,  a steam turbine can be used to generate electricity.
