Mmmmmm…. sausage
Boca Meatless Italian Sausages used to be one of my favorite fake meats when I lived in the US, so they were among the first things I picked up at the grocery store on this trip.
I sauteed a couple of the sausages with onion, garlic, bell pepper, tomatoes, and spinach. It was yummy, but the sausages were a lot saltier than I remembered them to be. I guess that’s a common characteristic of processed foods (which I am staying away from more and more these days). Still, since I didn’t add salt to the dish while it was cooking, the flavors balanced each other out, and I was left with a good lunch that was relatively healthy, too.
These are also good in tomato sauce over pasta, or in sausage, pepper, and onion sandwiches.
