Some people still cringe at the word “mommyblogger” like it’s meant to be said with some sort of disdain. “Oh. You’re one of those… mommybloggers. Interesting.”
But mommybloggers have staked out a huge domain on the Internet. They have their fingers on a lot of major pulses. There’s an entire business of mommyblogging. We’re making money from ads, by writing for networks, by having freelance pieces published, and major corporations are sitting up and taking notice. Some mommybloggers are getting sent freebies for review in the hopes that we’ll put in a good word so all our friends on and off the internet will buy. Some businesses are even offering all expenses paid trips – Johnson & Johnson offered up Camp Baby and Sony flew bloggers out for a seminar, giving them tons of expensive Sony electronics.
Mommyblogging is a big deal these days. Whether you write for your far-flung family, have a readership of several thousand close friends and strangers, or get sent expensive products, what you’re doing as a mommyblogger matters.
Don’t believe it? Check out this awesome list of resources for mommybloggers. Believe the hype. If you’re one of us, you’re more powerful and important than you may think.
I blog here and I blog on an even more personal level at my own site. Do you have one as well? Let me know!

I just jumped on the band wagon and wrote a post about MommyBloggers, too.
We are MommyBloggers. Hear us roar!!
I agree: mommybloggers are very important! Honestly, it’s one of the ways that I have felt no so alone. Being a mom can make you VERY lonely, especially if you are the first in your group/generation to have children (like I am)…so mommybloggers make me feel connected, like OTHER people are going through the same things.
