Moms Are A Different Breed

I’ve mentioned before Ruby’s intense desire for food. She’s not one to wait, so earlier last month she took measures into her own hands and climbed atop the counter to get herself a Num-a-Num (banana).

Knowing that this fourth child is really made out of rubber, I didn’t run to get the baby down. Instead, I ran and got my camera to take this shot.

Ruby Gets A Banana

I was reminded of this today when I saw Lil Duck’s “You Know You’re A Mom When…” post. Here’s what got me, “A quiet house alerts you that something is wrong.” Quiet either means:

1. Someone’s Very, Very Much In Danger or Hurt
2. Someone’s Very, Very Much Up To No Good

Thankfully, it’s usually the second one rather than the first.

This reminds me of the time my then 2 year old scaled the side of the refrigerator via an Easel to get tomatoes off the top. And here I thought I was putting them somewhere safe. Silly mommy.

Love it! I would have also took the photo. How could you not capture that wonderful moment?

Thanks Jenn. It was so adorable I just had to… :)

I would have taken the photo too. I have some pretty silly shots of my kids. They’re special to me.

When it’s quiet in my house either they are sleeping or they’re doing something they shouldn’t. They’re usually up to something.
