More on the Lifestyle Channel

As I continue my quest to get to know my fellow bloggers here at the B5 Lifestyle Channel, I am reminded of the variety of people and blogs we have available.

Elizabeth from Gen Between discusses the ups, downs and understandable pressures of the generation of people who have not only their children to take care of, but also aging parents.  In  her Long Distance Caregivers Turn to Care Managers, she discusses the trend of hiring care managers to take care of elderly parents who live far away and who probably don’t want to leave all the things and people they know.  I also enjoyed her recent entry about Dick Clark and Should Dick Clark Retire?  I know at my New Year’s Eve Party that was a big contested discussion.

Noreen at Hankering for Yarn blogs on “for the love of knitting, crochet, spoolknitting, spinning and weaving.”  With Mardi Gras not too far away, how about making yourself a mask.  Mardi Gras Mask White shows some of her incredible work and with just a click you can check-out her series of blogs in making this and a variety of Mardi Gras masks.  Gee, I wish I had an ounce of artistic sense.  My “mask” would be more likely to resemble the Unknown Comic.

Bill Fezzie breaths some fresh air into a side of parenting we often hear little about, Inside Fatherhood.  This is an informative, fun and even sometimes sweet take on parenting and being a dad.  It seems that the Fezzie clan have their hands full with a new arrival.  It was fun reading and remembering my two little guys and us at the stage.  My youngest is 2 1/2 and it is amazing how far removed we are from Sleep Deprivation and New Parenthood (thank the gods!) and how funny it is that your new bundle looks so much like a little old man, My Baby Looks Like Winston Churchill.

Sherry attempts to make sense of Inside Motherhood…which I have begun to believe is impossible.  Whether it be Ten Supplies for Your Craft Container or I’m Too Sappy for These Shows Now, Sherry has motherhood covered.  Oh, and I too tend to cry at even the Gerber Television commercials.

Hey Tracey, thanks for the mention.

I love your mentions of Top Chef. Hung Huynh is actually from the city where I live and I go to his family restaurant all the time. (Best spring rolls EVER.) My wife and I owned a cafe for a number of years and his parents and brother used to come in often. I’m going to have to try that lemon grass-marinated Pompano recipe you linked to.

  2. Hi Tracey

It’s such a pleasure to get to meet the other bloggers in the channel :o)
    Happy New Year!
