Mother’s Day Feast

Mother’s Day is only a day away. That’s right? And it is not too late to plan something special for her. I have a simple solution. Invite your mom over for a Mother’s Day Feast.
This Sunday, both sets of mom’s (and their spouses, of course) are coming over to our house for a visit with the grand-kids and a Mother’s Day Feast. So that I too can have a nice day, my husband is in charge. We are keeping it tasty and easy. The side dishes and dessert are coming from our local deli/bakery. My husband is grilling the dinner. We chose to go with a Paula Deen menu (this seems to be my theme of late), Jerk Pork Chops with Mango Chutney and Coconut Shrimp. I am thinking that a nice Mother’s Day cocktail may be the Coquito that Rosie Perez showed Martha Stewart how to make last week.
You can find thousands of ideas at the Food Network website. Emeril Lagasse, Paula Deen and Rachel Ray all had some ideas of dinners or brunches to make for mom.
Show mom how much you care by giving her some tasty food and a little bit of your time. If you are the Mom, forward this to those who may need a little guidance on what would help make your Mother’s Day great.
