Mott’s Pink to the Core Giveaway

Throughout the month of October, companies around the country step up with limited edition products benefiting breast cancer awareness. One of those companies is Mott’s.  Mott’s has created limited edition apple sauces that will benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure. They come in packs of 6 in delicious flavors such as Harvest Apple and Summer Strawberry.

Mott’s Healthy Harvest Sauce has no sugar added. These yummy sauces are naturally sweet snacks that everyone in your family will love. Mott’s Plus Sauce has no added sugar and is packed with extras such as antioxidants, fiber or calcium. You can learn more about Mott’s apple sauces at Motts.com.

Mott’s has pledged $300,000 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure and this limited edition packing will be available through the end of October. The sauce is available anywhere Mott’s products are sold and the packs have a SRP of $2.30.

    The healthiest thing I can say is drink plenty of water and eat veggies and fruits and take note of the food guide pyramid.

    I have a healthy “treat” at dinner. Something like applesauce or cottage cheese with pineapple. It makes dinner more exciting for the kids and I can feel good about what they are eating.

    I have carrots and celery on hand if anyone gets hungry before dinner. We can snack on those and not get to full.

    Set aside half of your meal when you go out to eat, eat 1 1/2 and normaly thats egnuff for a whole meal and your fill full

    In my baking I always substitute 1/2 the oil called for in the recipe for the same amount of natural applesauce — cuts down on the fat and adds in extra nutrients and has the same taste & texture!

    I add veggies anyway I can. Having salads is a great way to get your protein and vegetable fix. Also, find different ways of making vegetable palatable, such as baking them in the oven, or mash cauliflower as a substitute for mashed potatoes.

    I make a point of drinking a LOT of water, and for a snack, I enjoy organic fat free yogurt with fresh fruit and cinnamon. Very healthy and tasty!

    Go for the Three Threes on the label: at least three grams of fiber, at least three grams of protein, none of the first three ingredients are sugar/sugar substitute.

    We love taking our kids to the salad bar, and pick out tons of veggies for their plate. They get to try everything and they eat well!
