Move over Jon and Kate – Octuplets have been born
A California mother gave birth to EIGHT babies!
As the mom of twins, I take off my hat an bow down to this mighty woman! Now and always!
Dr. Mandhir Gupta, a neonatologist at Kaiser Permanente Bellflower Medical Center, confirmed the eight babies were in stable condition. Two of the newborns were initially put on ventilators, but their breathing tubes have been removed.
The mother, who was not identified, gave birth Monday to the six boys and two girls weighing between 1 pound, 8 ounces, and 3 pounds, 4 ounces.
These miracle babies are only the second set of octuplets to be born in U.S. history.
It seems eight was a big surprise to the parents considering they went in the hospital thinking they were only going to have seven.
Hmph – imagine!
Congrats to the family – we wish the mother and all the babies very well and look forward to the new Plus 8 that were born in a single birth.

I have a buddy that is having triplets! I couldn’t imagine have a set of multiples…
Its one thing to use fertility drugs to help the process along when you aren’t able to conceive but something entirely different when you are a single mom raising 6 kids already who recently had to file bankruptcy. “Gee mom weren’t we good enough for you.” I realize that she is living with her mom in a 3-bedroom house but how does a single mom spread her love and time between 14 kids. Of course maybe she wanted her own football team. I personally think she needs her head examined.
I don’t think people should judge her. She was just trying for one more. I don’t see anyone judging Jon and Kate for having six at once when they had twins at home (for the one who said “Gee mom weren’t we good enough for you.”) She has enough stress having 14 kids she doesn’t need your ignorance and immaturity bad mouthing her. Like the saying goes, If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all.
