Comedienne and actress Teri Garr has had more than her share of reasons to stop laughing. Diagnosed at in 1999 with multiple sclerosis (MS) after experiencing painful symptoms for 17 years and then having a brain aneurysm in 2006, Ms Garr is using those experiences to try and raise more awareness of disabilities.

Comedienne and actress Teri Garr has had more than her share of reasons to stop laughing. Diagnosed at in 1999 with multiple sclerosis (MS) after experiencing painful symptoms for 17 years and then having a brain aneurysm in 2006, Ms Garr is using those experiences to try and raise more awareness of disabilities.

Having to hide her MS throughout a good part of her acting career couldn’t have been easy. Speculation about what was wrong with her would make the rounds of the entertainment news, even after her diagnosis, because the now 63-year-old Ms Garr didn’t tell anyone. She finally went public with the news of her MS in 2002 and has been working for its awareness since.
