Multi-Talented Artist Mark Fejes

I was looking for a work chair for an office blog I write and I found one at an artist’s site…

So, not exactly what I had in mind (imagine this at your computer desk) but cool, right? Of course I start browsing (habit when I see weird furniture) and this artist, Mark Fejes creates the most wonderful items. Odd Alaskan ironweed, tables, more chairs, mobiles, and more.
However, click on his oldest work and you find a house! Two actually. I’m not sure if he was the designer or builder of these homes but both are neat.
The Round House — north of Fairbanks: This home is offbeat for when it was built; 1981 but not so offbeat in general. Not that I don’t like it. The shape is great and check out the platform.

This house is the best though. Fejes has it titled Gilmore Trail and it’s located north of Fairbanks. Built way back in 1972. This home is shaped so lovely; like someone built the home and then grabbed it and twisted the bottom.

I like it. It really is so 70s. I swear I had a toy home shaped like this when I was a kid in the 70s.
I’m dying to see the interior. I’m going to do a little hunting around and see what I find. Hopefully I don’t find out that it was torn down — or some other bad news. Also, guess I should go find a real office chair. I don’t think my other readers will like the one above.

The last one looks almost like a boat capsized in the forest. I’m all about the view, and I bet it’s beautiful.
the house on the bottom looks like it needs one of those platforms… although it would take away from its natural appeal.
Linette ~ I’m so all about views too
Mark ~ I agree; a platform might stop that topple quality it has but it would look out of place.
I found a Gaiam balance ball chair on Amazon.com. It’s delightfully wacky, and appeals to me!
As for the spikey chair – it may feel great when you sit on it. Acupressure/massage? Or it may just be agony…. LOL!
