Music Is Therapeutic For A Hearty Life

In optimizing the benefits of music, we need to recognize that while this modality can be effectively provided in a passive manner, as in the study by Hatem et al., its effects can be enhanced by the participation of a music therapist. Music therapists integrate their technique into the care of cardiac patients, assisting them with coping with the stress of the illness.

Music really can “soothe the heart”… We all know that listening to music can make you feel jmusicheart.jpgoy, sadness, excitement, malaise and even arousal. But did you know that many hospitals are now using music therapists to compliment healing among cardiac patients.

At the facility that I am employed, we even have a harp that is offered to our hospice, palliative care patients. Sound is thought to be the last thing to leave us before we pass, so every effort is put into making that experience as peaceful and serene as it can be.

I personally love music, and use it to “fire” me up for a good hearty workout. It helps me get going and gets my heart beat moving, which is what I am looking for at that moment. Do you use music to help you move and groove? What is your tune of choice?

At b5media, we have now launched a music channel. It will join our many other avenues that we offer. Now, like I said, I love music but I admit to knowing nothing about it. And you don’t EVER want to hear me sing. You will be sorry, go ask my hubby and kids!

So, like I was saying, “go on over” and check out our music experts at b5media. See what you think about our newly launched channel.
