My dad’s back update

October 6, 2007 by Elizabeth

My dad saw the doctor about his back.

He got a steroid shot, and, the OK to keep riding his bike (dangit).

He’s having sciatic pain, and, has reported one foot not working right, that’s the part that’s bothering me. I’m worried he’s going to fall.

But, he seemed no worse for the wear this morning at my son’s football game, so, who knows?

It’s spine related as opposed to a stroke or something, but, you know me, in my head, I’ve already jumped to him having to have a big surgery, and, me having to carry him around his house like last time.

It’s complicated being me.

That’s just the nurse in you fast-forwarding to the worst possible scenario. I do that too. Every stomach pain is appendicitis, every earache is mastoiditis, every headache is meningitis.

When my dad was doing his chemo and he had all of 3 white cells floating around in his blood he went out and ate raw oysters. I liketa died!!
