Kudos to those doing what they can to make a difference! Buying green can be hard to afford, but many new building options: prefab, re-construction, modular, manufactured, earthships, etc... allow anyone to live a healthy green lifestyle!

@Timothy it is a very bookmark worthy site. I've been playing around there for days.

@Rachel you know I almost posted that house here. It is too big, BUT the slant and color is so cool. Plus the outdoor spaces. I really liked that house a lot. It was one of my faves minus the size. I just don't get people building green mansions? Small is much nicer, although I like your idea of having a two family home set-up.

So, this is one of the larger homes I see on there, but I am totally in love with it: http://www.greenhomesforsale.com/listing.php?id=18390

It's not only beautiful (huge, but doesn't have a large home feel, and the construction doesn't feel new, even though it is), but it's in Asheville, NC, a place I could definitely live from what I've heard about it. I wanted to live there many years ago, before I discovered the PacNW, which is now my #1 choice.
And see that photo of the kids' play area! Wow!

Anyway, I love it. And I would take it, even though it's larger than I need by far. I would be happy doing it as a 2 family home, especially with all of the land (almost 6 acres), I'd want another family to help with the farming! :)
