My Omuraisu

Tom and I probably should start coordinating our posts:) — here’s his. I made this omelet as a special treat for myself for Mother’s Day….

I probably shouldn’t call it omuraisu except that it does have rice inside the omelet, a practice that I automatically associate with Japanese cuisine. Our Filipino omelets are more meat and/or vegetable filled. This one has rice, green onions, ham and tiny bits of Spanish chorizo. The rice is our garlic fried rice or sinangag. And no, the ketchup isn’t specifically Japanese, you know. My relatives all eat ketchup with their egg — be it scrambled or sunny-side up. Delicious stuff.
