My Top 5 Heart Gifts

Never dared myself to think of getting gifts on a Valentine’s Day before. But this morning my thoughts are filled with what-ifs, so, I reckon there’s no harm in sharing them.
For a number of reasons, I haven’t had a decent opportunity to truly celebrate Valentine’s Day for what it really is meant for. I’ve only wondered what it’d be like. Do I really want to experience a Valentine’s Day the way it ought to be? Yea, at least once in my life, I think, for keepsake. Heehee.
But I reckon instead of expecting the whole elaborate celebration, which I just might find a tad bit too awkward (hey, I’m not used to it! LOL), I’ll start with the “getting gifts” part.
A bouquet of my favourite flowers.
This is one of the occasions wherein I see a lot of women get flowers. I’ve often wondered how it would feel like (I feel like such a loser, pah) to get a flower or two on that very day. I’m not saying I haven’t received flowers on other occasions cuz I have (not so much of a loser now, heh).
A box of chocolate.
Just thought that this is one of the most common gifts that a girl receives during Valentine’s so I guess I don’t see why not, yeah? I have yet to experience it anyway. LOL.
A piece of jewelry.
What life! The luxury. I’m not that materialistic but I do consider the possibility of getting a piece of jewelry like a bracelet, a pair of earrings or a necklace for Valentine’s. Yea, it’d be nice to get one but it’s not mandatory. LOL.
A Valentine getaway.
I love traveling. And the idea of a “retreat” with my special someone is a good thing. Just the two of us. It doesn’t really have to be too far, but spending an overnight-er on a beach on Valentine’s Day would be lovely.
A long, sappy love letter.
What can I say? I’m such a romantic. There’s a certain allure about feelings captured in written words. I find them love letters one of the best gifts a guy can ever give me. I can’t help but consider the amount of attention he gave in writing it esp if it’s hand written. The idea is setting off butterflies in my stomach right now. LOL.
I’m not saying I should get all 5 in one Valentine’s Day. I’d be satisfied if I get to experience one out of the five in the course of my lifetime.

And, if no special person is around this year, it is also important for women to take charge of the day and give each other gifts! We deserve it, right?
YAY! I have a valid excuse to say what I want *snicker*
1. A PINK iPod Nano. They did release it for V-day, correct?
2. A THAT’S HOT PINK V-Moda Remix M-class Earphones to go wiv the iPod
3. A Spa treatment. I can almost smell Lavender and Orange when I said that.
4. A box of really fine dark chocolates. The finer and more bitter the better (read: less sugar, less fat).
5. A litre of extra virgin olive oil AND feta cheese. I have too much wine and no cheese in my kitchen!
Thanks for the kind thought, Sally! I would love to get a love letter on heart’s day! XD About giving gifts to other women, er, I’ll only be comfortable giving flowers or chocolates to my mum.

I like the romantic getaway idea – there is something about the thought of getting whisked away to some kind of gorgeous destination seems like something that would happen in a movie.

Other gifts – I’m not really one for flowers and candy, but a good bottle of champagne and some kind of special meal are also good choices.
