My Top Green Twitter Folks to Follow

The Huffington Post has a cool post up right now; Top “10″ Green Twitter Tweeters (Who You Should Follow) that got me thinking about one, green Tweeters and how they’re spreading green news in a new way, and two my own favorite eco-minded Tweeters.

In case you’re not on the Twitter bandwagon yet, what are you waiting for? Just this week, Time Magazine called out Twitter as a platform that may change the way we live and recently they also gave their views on the top 10 ways Twitter will change American business. Twitter is fun, social, informative, and best of all short. Can’t keep up with all the news, you should be able to on Twitter. And getting back to the green, Twitter is an excellent way to keep abreast of green news, products, and tips.

I agree with some of Waylon Lewis’ picks for best green tweets to follow – see his list – and I can offer up some other of my faves as well. First, if you don’t have a Twitter account get one, then check out these cool green tweeters…

My fave green tweeters:

  1. Tracy Stokes – Tracy, an awesome green blogger and eco-mama over at EcoStreet, always seems to know what’s going on in the green world and tweets often, making her a good follow.
  2. Grist – because I like my green with a smattering of attitude and like me Grist has issues with some major green deals and isn’t afraid to say so. Ahem, Earth Day overrated for example.
  3. Inhabitat – all the best of green architecture and savvy new eco-designs you should know about. If you’ve got kiddos you can follow their sister Twitter site Inhabitots.
  4. Planet Green – frequent green updates on all sorts of green news bites and tips.
  5. CrunchyGoddess – Amy’s always offering up personal and smart green tweets and her blog Crunchy Domestic Goddess rocks.
  6. Worldchanging – cool because they tweet a lot of community based green change ideas, which I like, and also always seem on top of the latest in energy news.
  7. BestGreenBlogs – because they’re into promoting green bloggers, um, something you bet I adore, and this is a great tweeter to follow if you’re looking for new green reads.

I actually have plenty of green tweeters I follow, but the ones above are some of my faves. If you join up with Twitter feel free to browse my Twitter pals – I’m at jenniferchait or let me know your fave green tweeters in the comments; I’m always looking for new reads.
