My Week of Stress, Eating, and Little Exercise.

This week I have had a tad amount of stress. Well, let’s say a good amount, even too much stress. And I took it out on myself. Feeling stressed, over worked, over tired and just plain blah – I slept a lot, stressed a lot, and ate a lot. Exercise? Oh, yeah – the thing I really wanted to get into a routine with. Not so much.
The weather here was quite warm, almost Spring-like, so I did make sure I walked to pick up the kids from school, but I got no "extra" walk in. And the treadmill, well, that was never turned on this week. But this is another day, the beginning of another week, and I vow to better. I need to do better!
My goal for this week will be to turn on the treadmill and use it at least 30 minutes every other day. I think I am actually going to do that right now! Also, I plan to cut back on one of my vices – Diet Coke. I do not drink coffee, so by 11:00 A.M., I need my caffeine via Diet Coke. And that, I will not give up. What I am going to give up is the subsequent glasses of Diet Coke I fill my self up with throughout the rest of the day. I am going to get back into drinking more water. Water. Water. Water. Water fills me up more than Diet Coke, and I really like water. I just need to remember to grab that instead of the soda bottle, which I am really going to do this week. I need to cut down on the sodium, and I think this is the way to start.
I will update you next Monday, with hopefully better news! And if you have any fun exercise motivational ideas that I can do on the other days I am not on my treadmill, let me know. I want to start doing something different a few days a week and add that into my schedule over the next month as well. (Slow and steady, remember?)

If you’re having trouble giving up your diet cola because you like the “fizz” of it try drinking Club Soda. I have been pop free for nearly a year now, I drink club soda, San Pellegrino (Italian Perrier) and sometimes add Crystal Light to it for flavour! Hope this helps!
I used to drink 5-7 diet cokes a day. It has been 13 days since I have had one. I have lost 7
pounds by giving up the diet coke and eating healthy.
I’m a Diet Dr Pepper fiend, and I’m trying to reduce or completely eliminate my diet soda consumption as well. I’ve found that the only way I can cut back and maintain sanity during the work week is to do so gradually. Instead of 2 20-oz bottles a day, I now drink 1 can and 1 20-oz bottle. In a week or so, I’ll cut back to 2 cans, and so forth…. Good luck!
