Mystery sweets number 1

Over the next 3 days I am going to put up 3 separate Chinese sweets that I know very little about.  The only reason they are here is that these things fascinate me.  Has anyone tried these.  It looks like they are made from, or to look like, a kind of melon, like a short Goya?  Any hints?

The melon is bitter gourd and I have no idea why that should be a cotton candy(marshmallow) flavour!!

I bought a bag of these when i went to China last year. They were in a bin with other flavors including Durian(bleah!), which I also bought, but couldn’t bear to eat. I’m thinking that they were a series of candies made from fruits that aren’t generally thought of as sweets material. I liked the Melon flavor.
