NaNoWriMo for Kids!

Yep, every year in November, it’s National Novel Writing Month.  For adults, that means churning out 50,000 words.  I’m in again this year – and I’m determined to make it.  If you’re playing along, too, feel free to add me as a buddy.  My user name is lawmummy and my page is here.

But what about the under 12 crowd?  Pounding out 50,000 words is a bit more of a challenge for kids.  So, NaNoWriMo has introduced… the NaNoWriMo Young Writer’s Program.  It’s free, it’s fun.  The program encourages teachers and parents to work with kids to set reasonable goals (unlike the adult program, there are no length requirements) to craft their own YP novel.

Last year, over 15,000 kids participated (and 79,000 adults participated in the adult program).  Why not find out how to get started and sign up?

Be sure and check in with us, to tell us how it’s going!
