National Chocolate-Covered Cherry Day

Today, January 3, is National Chocolate-Covered Cherry Day. Though I can’t seem to find out about this holiday’s origins (readers: please leave a comment if you know about this), chocolate-covered cherries always remind me of my grandmother. She lived to be 93 years old and long after most possessions and even people had lost their meaning to her, her face would still light up at a box of chocolate-covered cherries. Ah, the power of chocolate!
