National Grump Out Day

Did you know that there is no “grumping, no frowning, no grousing, complaining, punching, slapping, hitting or killing. FOR ONE WHOLE DAY.” It’s National Grump Out Day! The day was started seven years ago by Janice A. Hathy B.S., H.B. She’s also the owner of Smile Mania, which “creates, develops and produces a variety of stress reduction programs and materials to improve the mental, physical and emotional health of children and adults.”

Why banish grumpiness for a day? The goals for Grump Out day are:

1. To help people better understand the connection between negative attitudes, stress and health.
2. To see America give themselves permission to be friendly, playful, supportive and loving for just one day.
3. To lighten up our planet and reduce unhealthy stress through humor.
4. To have FUN!

Let’s do it! Put aside our troubles and concerns and just be happy. Can you do it? For a whole day?

    Hi Cherie

My name is Janice Hathy and I am the creator of the Grump Out. Cudos to you for discovering it, and sharing it. With so much stuff to be bummed over maybe we can shift our focus from what’s bumming us out and help the other person with what’s bumming them out….just for today maybe. Good luck and thanks. A warm smile from Venice, Florida

  2. Hi Janice! Thank you so much for creating this day! I love it. I’m a believer in focusing on the good things in life!
