June 7-13 marks National Headache Awareness Week. Headaches certainly are complex, with a very wide range of causes.
The National Headache Foundation offers several tools for sufferers, including tips on talking to your doctor and headache topic sheets, covering everything from caffeine to weekend headache!
In case you’re wondering, weekend headaches are often caused by oversleeping or caffeine withdrawal. And speaking of caffeine, headache patients are advised to refrain from excessive consumption.
I have headaches myself, and they’ve been blamed on everything from TMJ, eyestrain or sinus troubles. Honestly, I still don’t know why I get them sometimes, but aromatherapy is often helpful. Headaches are a journey…

My headaches are almost always caused by allergies or a sensitivity to a scent/chemical. Although, when I up my caffeine intake for a few weeks then drop it again, I *always* get a withdrawal headache.
Prevention, for me, is pretty easy as long as I avoid caffeine and take my allergy medications

Thanks for your comment. I take allergy meds and avoid caffeine as well. Sometimes though, I feel like the world was made for caffeinated people! For instance, why don’t restaurants offer caffeine-free tea?
