National Infertility Awareness Week – Advocacy Day

In honor of National Infertility Awareness Week, Resolve has created a list of ways you can get active each day. Today is a virtual advocacy day.

Here are just a few suggestions on how to expand infertility awareness:

  • Write your Congressperson and tell them you support the Family Building Act of 2007 which would extend insurance coverage to infertility treatments.
  • Vote! Vote today for candidates that understand women’s and family issues and take them seriously.
  • Educate some folks who, like Mary Emma commented, aren’t trying to be cruel, they just don’t know.

And if you have any time left in your busy day, read some of the blogs highlighted here in my blog roll, or head on over to Stirrup Queens and Sperm Palace Jesters for the granddaddy of all infertility blog rolls (warning: it’s loooong). See just how many couples are dealing with infertility for a myriad of reasons and how many different ways people have found to have a family – some traditional, some not.
