The latest issue of Nature Neuroscience is focused on Childhood Developmental Disorders, specifically on dyslexia, autism, specific language impairment and Fragile X. In an Introduction, Associate Editor Charvy Narain notes that “studying abnormal development may yield information about normal developmental processes as well. ” Here are the topics of the four Perspective articles in which “this overlap between different developmental disorders, and normal and abnormal development” is explored.
- From genes to behavior in developmental dyslexia
- Time to give up on a single explanation for autism
- Fragile X syndrome and autism at the intersection of genetic and neural networks
- What developmental disorders can tell us about the nature and origins of language
The entire contents of this special issue of Nature Neuroscience will be freely available on the internet for three months; you can go here to access the articles.
