Free Positive-Negative Designs by Martha Schmidt of Needle Maid Designs. Offered are charts for a Dragon, Turtle, Unicorn, Phoenix, Swan, Butterfly, Flower Basket, Hearts, Wedding Doves, Paisley, and Alphabet.
These designs are worked with a single color of floss, and can be stitched in the “negative” (the design areas remain unstitched) or in the “positive” (only the design itself is stitched). Because you choose the floss and fabric colors, these versatile designs can match any decor.
In spite of an already enormous list of designs I wish to some day stitch, I’m adding most of these to it. Maybe I can squeeze one or two into my rotation after I finish some of my current WIP.
I WORKED THE POSITIVE/NEGATIVE DRAGON PATTERN (I DID THE NEGATIVE VERSION) FOR A FRIEND FOR CHRISTMAS & BELIEVE IT OR NOT IT WAS A LOT EASIER TO DO THAN DOING THE PATTERN IN THE POSITIVE. THE REASON I SAY THIS IS BECAUSE YOU DON’T HAVE TO SWITCH COLORS, IT IS DONE IN ONE COLOR.
