I’m a fan of nutrition bars, especially nutrition bars with chocolate in them, so when I was offered a chance to try a sample of the new Odwalla Chocolate Chip Trail Mix Bar of course I said yes.

The new Odwalla Chocolate Chip Trail Mix Bar, hitting stores this month, has yummy chocolate chips mixed in with rolled oats, peanuts, raisins, coconut, and sunflower seeds.
I love nutrition bars for a quick take along snack, because they travel well where many healthy snacks don’t. These bars have antioxidants including, Vitamins A, C, & E plus folic acid and calcium. They were definitely delicious, and if I have the opportunity I will definitely buy them again.
You can find the new Chocolate Chip Trail Mix bars in natural food stores, select supermarkets and specialty outlets throughout the United States, along with other Odwalla bars including Mocha-walla™, Banana Nut and Berries GoMega®.
If you’d like more information about the new Odwalla Chocolate Chip Trail Mix Bar check out the Odwalla website.

I’m sorry to say that this bar, although organic, is far from healthy. With the top 5 ingredients (after the generic label of ‘Trail Mix’) being
- Brown Rice Syrup
- Organic Oats
- Semisweet Chocolate Chips
- Brown Rice Flower
- Evaporate Cane Juice
Add to that 15g of sugar and only 2g of fiber, this is nothing but a candy bar in disguise. It will spike blood sugar levels, which will cause the eater to store all those lovely calories (as well as anything they eat for 2 hours afterwards) as BODY FAT.
Hardly a nutritious snack!
