No Commute Should Be Without Them…

While my twins are now teenagers and not so easily entertained in the car, when they were younger, there were a few necessities I’d never be caught without when making road trips, both long and short.

Dry erase washable markers - This is a great way to entertain kids. If your windows are going to get dirty and need cleaned anyway, why not let the little artist have at it?

Gameboys – a given! While I don’t like the kids playing video games too much, this is one that is a must on any trip!

Portable DVD Player – I love ours! It’s come in handy on long trips. It’s easy to stop off at the store, pick up something the kids haven’t seen and be on your way. It’s good for at least two hours of silence :)

Rubberneckers
– It truly is everyone’s favorite travel game. It’s entertaining for everyone in the car, including mom and dad. It’s fun to play on long trips or even on the morning commute to school and work. No car should be caught without it.

What are some of the things you keep in your car to keep the kiddos entertained?

What if they dry erase marker the seats or carpet? What if they permanent marker the windows on accident? Sounds dangerous and risky.

I always had one of those plastic seat covers under the kids when they were younger. And the plastic floorboard covers. With twins, you learn to cover EVERYthing :)
