Nothing Changes If Nothing Changes 2009

Please, I pray I don’t go to that place where I believe I can live on yesterday’s sobriety…

Borrowed from last year;

Constant = Unchanged, Consistently recurring over time, persistent…

Page 20: “Our very lives, as ex-problem drinkers, depend upon our constant thought of others and how we may help meet their needs.”

Page 73: “But they had not learned enough of humility, fearlessness and honesty, in the sense we find it necessary, until they told someone all their story… He is under constant fear and tension – that makes for more drinking.”

Page 155: “He told me how he lived in constant worry about those who might find out about his alcoholism.”

Recovery from a hopeless state of mind and body remains a “do what you don’t want to do” program. The Promises will materialize if we work for them!

    Yes they will, however I’m halfway through step 8, the part I’m not at is the willing part. It’s the fear of telling my wrongs to people I’ve wronged. The consequences are out there. However, I believe without a doubt that I will be happier when I live the steps as they are meant to be lived which means I have to conquer this fear.

    It’s amazing, now I know better, after 9 years of sobriety, I decided to go the AA route and now that I’m informed there’s no going back. Damn!

    Thanks for the great site as well as the insight.

    Thanks Robyn. Your visits, comments and compliments are very welcomed.

    Thought – read page 87 in the 12&12 – the last paragraph of Step 9.
