Can you recognize the distinct meaning of “Nothing Less?”
Nothing, nada, zilch, zero, not one iota, less!
“Almost none of us liked the self-searching, the leveling of our pride, the confession of shortcomings which the process requires for its successful consummation.”
PLEASE! Pay Attention! This sentence states very, VERY clearly that without the Twelve Steps, thoroughly and completely – the process of recovery will NOT be successful!
Honesty Truthfulness
Now – really… how many of you who are between 3 to 9 months away from your last drink can say, with no reservations whatsoever, that you have had a deep and effective spiritual experience based in the Twelve Steps?
“But we saw that it really worked on others, and we had come to believe in the hopelessness and futility of life as we had been living it. When, therefore, we were approached by those in whom the problem had been solved, there was nothing left for us but to pick up the simple kit of spiritual tools laid at our feet. We have found much of heaven and we have been rocketed into a fourth dimension of existence of which we had not even dreamed.”
Yes, that process and those results! Honestly!
“The great fact is just this, and nothing less: That we have had deep and effective spiritual experiences which have revolutionized our whole attitude toward life, toward our fellows and toward God’s universe.”
Flip anyone the finger lately?
“The central fact of our lives today is the absolute certainty that our Creator has entered into our hearts and lives in such a way which is indeed miraculous. He has commenced to accomplish those things for us which we could never do by ourselves.”
Do you believe in your heart that you can answer yes, this has happened for you?
Or… when you answer “yes’ does your belly barometer go off and tell you you’ve lied but you then ignore your gut?
