November: a month of comfort food!

In my quest to help calm the nerves of anxious citizens everywhere, I’m officially declaring November to be Comfort Food Month! No, you won’t find it marked that way on any calendar (unless you make your own), but I think it’s definitely worth observing. Sandwiched (ha!) as it is, between Halloween with its overload of sugar on one end, and Thanksgiving with its mind-numbing turkey and stuffing on the other end…why not devote the entire month to delicious foods that fill our bodies and souls with warmth?
So I sent out a plea: can you share your recipes for comfort food with me? And chefs everywhere answered: “Yes, we can!” You will find recipes from many many guest authors here this month, as well as some of my own family’s faves. I am so thankful to all the wonderful cooks who sent me their offerings: everyone from professional chefs (think Top Chef…) to people like me, who simply love to cook and bake for our families.
Not wanting to leave anyone out, if your family has a special comfort food that you’d like to share, please let me know! You can email me at cyndi @ b5Media.com (remove the spaces), and I’d be delighted to share your favorite too!
